‘Mad max in a cabbage patch’ as vinca Petersen, said as we walked again around and round the shangrila , the common , block 9 , the unfair ground and all the party fields of Glastonbury. Had a different way in this time and meant that shan gri la was our home for the festival and what a good one too. Party party and a feeling of the old party scene had survived, with props that have taken a generation to build and orchestrate to almost celebrate the passing of 90’s dance music. Who would have thought that all those 90’s ravers were secretly planning the re-emergence of a mad max world . Too many changes now to mention from the new wave of Glastonbury security and people outside to prove it , all the great players are there and I guess when it comes to THE celebration of the performing arts that is all that really matters.

Still loving the new areas , like Strummerville and the the park

This year didn’t see too many bands due to party fields but loved the double bill of wu tan clan and bb king , inspired also Benjamin folke Thomas doing the rebel song and gruff rhys for the terror of cosmic lonliness.

A year of next year and I think secretly all the organisers and crew and workers of the show are relieved about that. The monster of the festival world sleeps till 2013.
